In 2019, the organization committee of the European forum for social entrepreneurship has agreed on a subject of the Eight forum – “’Ecosystem of the social entrepreneurship”’. Its arguments were to emphasize on the holistic approach of the issue of social entrepreneurship. It means to mention recent problems. They are part of the eight elements of the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship, discussed at European, national and local level:
- Public administration –conception, vision, strategy, policy;
- Financial institutions – innovative approaches and recent instruments;
- Scientific institutions –theoretical, applied and scientific research;
- Non-government organizations –conception, vision, policy, connectivity and influence on joint actions;
- Local community and society – development, maturity, ways of explaining problems and their resolving;
- Social entrepreneurship – business models, good and poor practices, innovations;
- Corporal social responsibility –options for an environment for development and support of social entrepreneurship;
- Market – customers’ feedback, competition, cooperation between public, private and social entrepreneurship sectors
Each matter will be demonstrated by different means within the 8th European forum for social entrepreneurship (28-31.03.2019 International fair, Plovdiv).
Public institutions – conception, vision, strategy, policy
Public institutions have an important impact on the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship. Conceptions which have been issued as well as the implemented policy are a legal base, which regulates the social economy field. A conference for Public Policy for Development of Social Entrepreneurship will take place and present updated information on European commission, Bulgarian state and its institutions of social entrepreneurship field activity. The lecturers would be able to answer to audience questions and to those of European citizens following a survey made by the European Economic and Social Committee, the European confederation of industrial and service cooperatives and International Labor Organization.
Financial institutions – innovative approaches and current instruments
For the last years, financial institutions have been subject to changes relevant to the market environment, a sustainable development and social responsabilty of a modern business model. Modern financial institutions recognise social entrepreuners and include micro, small and medium size companies and their social particularities. Round table: Modern Approaches of Social Entrepreneurship Financing. It will inform about recent trends of financing social entrepreneurship and discuss the possibilities it could offer. Modern conceptions on encouragement of investment will be presented to private sector as well as public funds for social entrepreurship.
Scientific institutes – theoretical, applied and science researches
The theory of social entrepreneurship development and its implementation compensates its stagnation for decades. A successful development of European representatives of social entrepreneurship means that they are going to be provided with information about this sphere. A scientific and practical conference on “Successful Modern Business Models for Social Support’’ will take place and present theoretical and practical reports to people who are interested in. The business models for social assistance include an understanding of social economy by presenting models of social entrepreneurship and corporal social responsibility, development of customers’ attitude and behavior, whose social aims have been accepted by local community and society. It includes models of sustainable development.
Besides scientists interested in social economy would have an opportunity to get in touch with social entrepreneurs and compare theory and practice. It will be possible to implement existing theoretical models and develop new scientific researches.
The organizers want to establish a partnership with the University of national and world economy and organize a scientific and practical conference at a European level. Scientists from leading Universities of Spain, Italy, England, France and Greece have been invited.
Non-government organizations – conception, vision, policy, connectivity and impact on processes
A great number of non-government organizations will be present at the Multimedia hall of non-government organizations, placed in the expo hall. The visitors will be able to become familiar with the activity of leading European and National organizations. Social entrepreneurs will be able to communicate with particular organizations of National and European importance.
A conference “Union of Worker Producers’ Co-operatives – a Key for Development of Social Entrepreneurship in Bulgaria”, will be held by the oldest social entrepreneurship organization in Bulgaria. Representatives of the European confederation of industrial and service cooperatives, of the International Cooperative Alliance and the International Labor Organization are expected to attend the conference. This event’s purpose is to make sure society is aware and familiar with the social entrepreneurship history. This has been achieved through the workers’ producers’ coops. Another aim of the conference is to develop a strategy for social entrepreneurship by assisting Bulgarian workers’ producers’ coops.
Local community and civil society – development, maturity, instruments for identification of social needs and problems and how to resolve them
A forum of subject “Activity for social inclusion in local community” aims to establish a communication between local community, local authority, companies and coops developing social entrepreneurship. Within the forum, the participants will become familiar with the aims and particular possibilities of their organizations. This is a way to establish a long and medium term communication. The forum’s purpose is to find out a model which could be applied all over the country.
Social entrepreneurship – business models, good and poor practices, innovations
Over 100 exhibitors of 16 European countries will demonstrate their achievements by attending the European fair of companies and coops of social economy. The organizers expect many representatives of particular regions in Europe to attend the event. This will recognize plurality of approaches and specifics of achieving a successful social entrepreneurship. Representatives from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey have been invited to demonstrate particularities of social entrepreneurship in South Europe. Representatives from Norway and Belgium will demonstrate achievements of social entrepreneurs in North Europe. Attendees from England and France will demonstrate the achievements in Western Europe. Attendees from Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary will represent Central Europe. Eastern Europe will be represented by Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian, Romanian and Bulgarian attendees to demonstrate the social entrepreneurship in their region.
A particularity of the presentation of the attendees of the European fair of companies and coops of social entrepreneurship in 2019, will be a virtual presence. This will enable the attendees and guests to communicate with associations, consortiums and other organizations from Europe through a videoconference. Organizations from Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as some European organizations, are expected to participate. These organizations work in the field of social and solidarity economy.
„Modern entrepreneurial business models in social economy“ – it will include a presentation of good practices and a discussion relevant to its implementation.
Corporal social responsibility – opportunities for development of a suitable environment and support of social entrepreneurship
The European forum will be attended by representatives of multinational companies, which have developed a policy for corporal social responsibility.
Round table „Social Economy, Social Policy, Corporate social responsibility’’- this will provide an opportunity for a discussion between social entrepreneurs, representatives of multinational companies, micro, small and medium sized enterprises of the country. The participants will become familiar with particular issues of social and solidarity economy. They will be able to share ideas and experience. One purpose of this event is to establish a better communication between the parties and find ways of development of social entrepreneurship.
Market – customers’ feedback, social responsibility competition, interaction between public, private and social entrepreneurship sectors
With the support of the Bulgarian Ministry for Economy, the Agency for support of small and medium sized enterprises, the European forum for social entrepreneurship will extend its exhibition to Bulgarian small and medium sized enterprises. That extension will provide an opportunity for a communication between social entrepreneurs and their potential partners. This will be useful to find new markets, improve raw materials and materials delivery, technical and software solutions for manufacturing. They could find new partners, who would use their products and services.
The partnership with the Bulgarian Industrial Association and the Bulgarian chamber of commerce and industry will enable important European and Bulgarian companies to attend the forum and fair. They will make the attendees and visitors familiar with the opportunities given by their corporate social responsibility.
A presentation of items and business meetings will take place at the European forum on social entrepreneurship.
The eight edition of the European forum for social entrepreneurship is a large, important event , which has a modern vision and innovation means and a social impact.
