You can travel from Sofia to Plovdiv by railway or by bus.
You have to go to the Central Railway Station, or to the Central Bus Station (located in close proximity).
From Sofia Airport (Terminal I and II) to the Central Railway Station and the Central Bus Station in Sofia, you should follow following route:
From the Airport to the stop “Hospital St. Ana”, you should travel on bus 84. At the same stop, you should take the bus 305 until the stop “Centralna Gara” (Central Railway Station). The ticket price for the public transport is 1 Lev.

From the Central Railway Station Sofia, there are trains to Plovdiv from 06:30 to 22:40.
Departure times: 06:30, 07:05, 07:15, 08:20, 10:35, 11:10, 11:45, 13:25,13:25, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:20; 17:00, 18:45, 22:40.
The distance from Sofia to Plovdiv will take 2 hours and a half.
The ticket price is approximately 10 Leva.
From the Railway Station Plovdiv to the Fair you should take bus 7.
Central Bus Station Sofia – www.centralnaavtogara.bg
From the Central Bus Station Sofia, buses depart to Plovdiv every hour from 07:00 to 20:00.
The distance from the Central Bus Station Sofia to bus station „Yug” (South) in Plovdiv, is approximately two hours by bus.
The ticket price is 14 Leva.
From the bus station to the Fair, you should take bus 1 or 7.
Transportation in Plovdiv City
There are 3 bus stations in the city:
Bus station “South”
Mainly for buses travelling to and from Sofia, Burgas and Varna and south of Plovdiv.

From the bus station to the city center you can take bus № 7, 20 and 26 or you can walk for about 20 minutes on one of the city’s famous streets “Ivan Vazov” – popular with its shoe shops, which is close to the bus station and the city center.
Bus station “Rodopi”

The bus station serves 38 destinations to administrative centers and to alpine places. It is situated right next to the Central Railway Station and to the hypermarket ‘Billa-2′. From the bus station to the city center you can take bus № 1 and 27 or trolleybus № 3. If you want to walk you have to go to the underground passage, which connects the bus station “Rodopi” and the Central Railway Station.

Bus station “North” serves 40 destinations to and from settlements north of Plovdiv. The station is located in the northern part of the city, away from the city center. Use bus № 99 or taxi.
Travel by train
Central Railway Station of Plovdiv is situated near the center on 46, Hristo Botev Blvd. From the station to downtown is about 15 minutes walking along “Ivan Vazov” street. You can also take a taxi or bus № 7, 20 or 26.

Taxis in Plovdiv are always painted in yellow. There are taxi ranks in front of the hotels, railway station and bus stations and at some main points in the city, but you can also stop a taxi on the street or via phone and get a discount. Prices are about 0.60 BGN levs per kilometer, no initial fee. Before using a taxi, make sure that prices are correctly displayed. Recommended taxi numbers: 6665, 9199, 6106, 6142.
You can rent a car if you are over 20 years old and you have valid personal documents. Rental rate ranges from 30 to 90 levs per day, depending on the car. You have to pay a deposit between 100 and 200 levs. If you rent a car for a period longer than 3 days, you get a discount.
